We will never be able to completely comprehend God’s Love at least on this side of eternity.
John 3 verse 16: Tells us that ‘God so loved the world, He gave the best He had, His one and only So Christ Jesus, to pay the price for our transgressions, so we can have fellowship, and walk in the completeness of that love now and in eternity.
Our Lord has always assured His people of His Great Love by revealing aspects of Himself, through His Word. In Isaiah 49 verse 4 to 23; He uses the illustration of comparing Himself to a compassionate mother.
Then He uses the term compassionate warrior. Isaiah 49 verses 24 to 26:
And A constant lover in Isaiah 50 verse 1 to 3:
God is a Patriarch. He is also a Matriarch, He is all love and extends Mercy, Grace and Forgiveness to ‘any whosoever’ who is prepared to come to Him in genuine repentance.
I used these verses about Him many years ago, when a lady {Gwen} came for prayer. My assistant at the time, saw Gwen was quite agitated, and considered what help we could offer Gwen. I do what I always do, just offered to pray for her, but Gwen was so distressed, she could could not come near me.
Our Lord and Our Friend always knows the problem and the answer, so it is foolish to pray for anyone without asking Him first about the situation at hand. He revealed to me, Gwen had a problem with the concept of Him as masculine, because men in general had give her a constant amount of grief.
I turned to this scripture, Isaiah 49 verse 24 to 26: to reassure Gwen about the awesomeness of God’s Love. God’s Love can not be contained by any mere mortal words. God’s love is all embracing. So I felt lead to pray, that God would show Gwen, His all embracing Love. His Matriarchal Love that not many understand. Gods’ love also has a Motherhood side to it.
Well from a lady that had fear of me, Gwen was transformed, by the Power of God’s Love that came around us. The fear was broken and she began to hug me and not want to let me go.
We then prayed together the ‘Sinner’s prayer’, and Gwen apologized to God, for allowing herself to understand the fullness of our awesome God’s Love, up to that moment.
Transformation that can come to all our, lives, if we are prepared to find out and understand how wonderful His Love is for any ‘whosoever’ The transformation was so real, I sort of forgot how long Gwen stayed after the prayer. Transformation that turned her agitation, into a hunger to know more, about God’s love.
God’s love transcends our thinking and our knowing, and no matter what we are going through, once we accept it. Hebrews 4 verse 13: Tells us, that the Love He has for us will never leave us or forsake us.
Our lives can be complicated messes, but by His Great Love our messes, can become messages of hope for others.
God Bless.
