In everything give thanks
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT v 18 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is
God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus”. This is the will of God for you.
How often do we wonder “Lord what is Your will for me?” Here it is – “rejoice
always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks – For this is the will
of God for you in Christ Jesus”.
The Bible tells us to “enter His gates with thanksgiving”, ”come into His courts
with praise”.
God’s ways are higher than ours and His thoughts wiser. He calls us to be
obedient to His word and because He can cause all things to work together for
our good, then we know we can trust Him.
Sometimes when I’m feeling sick or things are not going right for me, I can
struggle with these verses. However, lately I am aware that my Lord and
Friend wants me to yield to Him – follow His ways – to walk closely with Him.
He leads us through the valley of the shadow of death – maybe that death is
simply our own wants and desires. But His way is perfect.
Some countries celebrate a special day/season of thanksgiving, however the
Lord wants us to come to Him freely, every day – anytime of day, with
thanksgiving and praise. We can come boldly to His throne of grace so we can
find mercy and help in time of need.
So much to be thankful for.
