Beloved

“Beloved, I pray that you would prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” 3 John 2 NKJV

Song of Solomon 2:16 says “My Beloved is mine and I am His”  Song of Solomon 2:4  AMPC “He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love (for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near Him)”

Ephesians 1:5-7 “having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, in the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us acceptable in the Beloved.  In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the richness of His grace”

Beloved – I love this word.  Be-loved!  This is a word we don’t hear so much these days – but it’s mentioned several times in the Bible.  Today – are you willing to be-loved?  The Lord is calling to us daily, moment by moment, to allow Him to love us, so we in turn, can love others as He loves us.

Isaiah 27:3 “I the Lord keep it, I water it every moment; Lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day”.

As we have received the Holy Spirit, He is the One Who protects, refreshes,   leads, guides and teaches us all things.  John 7:38 NLT “anyone who believes in Me may come and drink!  For the Scriptures declare ‘rivers of living water will from his heart”

Back to the Scripture we started with, 3 John 2.  Some definitions from the Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary of the word ‘prosper’ are – to be successful, to be fortunate, to thrive, to make gain, to grow, to increase.

This prayer reveals a desire that we would grow and increase in all things, including our health, just as our soul prospers.  Our soul is our mind, will and emotions.  Romans 12:2 “and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”

“Therefore, take no thought, saying….” Matt 6:31.   We are the be-loved of God.  Let’s be aware of our thoughts and bring them into obedience to the Word of God, renewing our minds, growing in grace, allowing the love of our Father God to shine through us wherever we are.

  God bless.
