Isaiah 9 verse 6:
“For a child will be born for us, and the government will be on His shoulders, He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace”.
What a wonderful time of the year, the world celebrates Christmas, without really knowing what they celebrate. The celebration is about Christ Jesus being born as one of us, so we can be free from the power of sin. The birth is an expression of of God’s love, that Christ Jesus would come down from His throne of Glory, to be clothed in flesh like ours.
Christ Jesus, always existed, in eternity with God The Father and The Holy Spirit. It was Christ Jesus who created us and everything there is {John 1 verse 1 to 5}.
The Creator came to pay the price that separated The Triune God from Their Creation because of sin.
This verse from the Old Testament was a prophecy of His coming in the New Testament. We are given a set of majestic titles that describe His role, He will be.
The Wonderful Counselor;
Sometime in our lives we need counseling. Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend} is a wonderful Counselor, and by studying The Scripture in particular the Gospels we will see how unfailing He counsels all who come to Him.
Christ Jesus told His disciples in John 14 verse 16: “and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever”. {The Holy Spirit}
The Mighty God;
Christ Jesus has divine characteristics , divine works are accredited to Him, divine worship is rendered to Him and divine titles are ascribed to Him. He is both God and man.
The Everlasting Father:
This does not mean that Jesus is the first person of the Trinity Jesus is God, but He isn’t the Father or the Holy Spirit. He is the second person of The Trinity. He exercises fatherly care over us as One who perfectly represents The Fathers love for us.
Prince Of Peace:
He processes infinite peace, which he imparts to all who will follow Him. .Philippians 4 verse 7:
“and the Peace of God, will surpass every though, will guard your heart and your minds IN CHRIST JESUS”.
This Christmas time let take time to reflect the great love God The Father has for us all, and the great love His Son Christ Jesus wants to impart to us, if we are prepared to repent, accept and follow Him, and the great love The Holy Spirit will bring to our lives, as a promise of Our Lord and Our Friend {Christ Jesus the only begotten Son Of The Father}.
God Bless.
O F j.
Where do you get it form that Christ Jesus, always existed, in eternity with God The Father and The Holy Spirit. It was not Christ Jesus who created us and everything. There is but the Only One God, the heavenly Father of Jesus Who created everything, and as an eternal Spirit has no beginning and no end, is not born and did not die.
Jesus was born, seen by many, tempted more than once, tortured , did die and was risen out of the dead and taken to sit at the right hand of the Only One God to be a mediator between God and man.
Jesus established a new covenant between us and God. In Old testament times God agreed to forgive people’s sins if they brought animals for the priests to sacrifice. When this sacrificial system was inaugurated, the agreement between God and man was sealed with the blood of animals {Exodus 24 v *}. But animal blood did not in it self remove sin {only God can forgive sin}, and animal sacrifices had to be repeated day by day and year after year. Jesus instituted a “new covenant’ {one reference Luke 22 v 20} or agreement between humans and God. Under this new covenant, Jesus would die in the place of sinners. Unlike the blood of animals, His Blood {because He was God} would truly remove the sin of all who put their faith in Him. And Jesus’ sacrifice would never have to be repeated, it would be good for eternity {Hebrews 9 v 23 to 28}. The prophets looked forward to this new covenant that would fulfill the old sacrificial agreement {Jeremiah 31 v 31 to 34}, and John The Baptist called Jesus ‘the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world’ {John 1 v29}. If Jesus was just a good man and not God incarnate in flesh, we are all still lost in our sin with no hope. I am Glad that God Loved me so much, that He sent His Son to die in my place for sin, or I would still be separated, From Him because my sin could never be forgiven by just a good man dying in my place. The Creator died for His creation, that is how awesome His love for us is. {John 3 v 16}. Any whosoever can come, and be made right with God, if they believe who Jesus really is, if they don’t believe that there is no salvation
We totally agree with the New Covenant matter and God having foreseen a Saviour, but that does not explain that Jesus existed in eternity. In the Garden of Eden the first promise was made about a solution for the first sin of man, but it was not then (some time after the creation) that Jesus was already ‘made’ or that he was already ther. He had still to be born. As you point out it was John the Baptist, may we remind you, the cousin of Jesus, who recognised in his family member the Lamb of God. Clearly by saying ” If Jesus was just a good man and not God incarnate in flesh, we are all still lost in our sin with no hope.” you proof not to recognise the real offer Jesus made. In case he would have been God, he could not be seen by man or they would die, but even more important, he could not be tempted nor die, both elements Jesus had to endure, he was really tempted but did not go into temptation; he could sin but he did not; he was rally tortured and bullied and died by impalement. To say a human being would not be capable to do such things is minimising Jesus his atonement offering.
You say the “Creator died for His creation”, but may we remind you that according to the Holy Scriptures, God is an eternal Spirit, and as such has no beginning and no end, and can not die.
You also say “if they believe who Jesus really is, if they don’t believe that there is no salvation” so if you do not believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of God you say yourself you will not have salvation. Is that not a good reason to come to see who Jesus really is and what he really has done for you?
What I Did say is that if Jesus is not God incarnate in the flesh, it was pointless that He as just a good man die for our salvation. There can be no salvation, unless one believes that Jesus is God. God is no respecter of persons, He loves us equally individually, so it is pointless that any individual just to die on the cross, that is why Jesus came, so He as God incarnate in flesh could pay the price for our sins that separated us from Him. The Creator paid the price of sin for His creation. The Gospel of John in John 1 v 1 reads, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and The Word was with God, and the Word was God’ {NKJV} God took on flesh. John said it this way; ‘The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten of The Father, full of grace and truth.’ {John 1 v 14 NKJV} We should always be so grateful for what Jesus did for us. A Great Christian writer William Dyer once wrote, which is the best way I can express it. ‘Christ uncrowned Himself, to crown us, and put off His robes to put on our rags. Jesus made great sacrifice for us. He left behind glorious things so He could take us in. There is much to admire about our planet. there is much to look forward to in heaven.’ There would be none good enough to achieve what needed to be achieved. that is why Jesus came, as ‘Incarnate Deity’.
