Know the importance of the season

Proverbs 10:5 “Know the importance of the season you’re in and a wise son you will be. But what a waste when an incompetent son sleeps through his day of opportunity.” The Passion Translation.

Over the years I have written a few times about seasons; and here I go again. I love the translation of this verse “know the importance of the season you are in.” Some seasons are long and some are short.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8,11a “”to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and time to pluck what is planted. A time to keep and a time to throw away; a time to keep silent and a time to speak; v.11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time…..He has put eternity in their hearts.”

There is a season, an appointed time for everything, an appointed rhythm, appointed transitions and appointed victories. Verse 11 says God will cause each appointed season we go through to transition in His timing into something beautiful – He has put eternity in our hearts.

I love doing jigsaws on my IPad. I am amazed (and puzzled ha ha), when sometimes I try to put a piece into place, that it often won’t settle until the surrounding pieces are in their place. This may sound strange, but I like to think that it’s a bit like our lives; sometimes “this has to happen before that can be settle into place”.

What I do know is that our Lord and our Friend is faithful to lead us in every season of our lives. He is always good. His ways are perfect. We can trust Him.

Whatever season you find yourself in, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely will joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans 15:13 NLT
