Empathize A Point

The emphasizes a point is a ‘Paradox’

A Paradox is; An assertion or proposition seemingly, absurd, yet true in fact, a seeming contradiction,

Like the above Scripture Verse, 1 Corinthians 1 verse 25: “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men”.

To relate to a story about a paradox, we only have to look at the story when Jesus went to the home of a religious leader and Pharisee Simon. Read about it in Luke 7 verses 36 to 50.

A woman was to interrupt their meeting, not just any woman but a prostitute. {few of them mentioned in the bible, Rahab was also one}

What we would call a holier than thou attitude, would have been high in this place, except for Jesus’ attitude to her. She was weeping too, imagine the discussed in the house, most likely the Host Simon The Pharisee wanted to throw her out, but Jesus seemed interested in her.

He is interested in each one of us, but loves us to much to leave us the way we are when we first meet Him. We are all sinners, no matter how we look at it, but by accepting Jesus, as Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, we become saved from the power of sin by His Grace. Grace is undeserved  favor.

Jesus spoke these words, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

The woman knew though what Jesus was saying there was hope for her. She began to cry so much in seeing Jesus, her tears poured so freely, that the tears soaked Jesus’ feet. She then wiped them with her hair and poured perfume, she had brought with her on them. Simon the Pharisee, would have been at his wit’s end, again probably thinking this woman is spoiling the meeting with Jesus

Silently Simon then starts to question Jesus, does He really know what He is talking about, because if He did, He would know what sort of woman, this woman is.

Simon critical and cynical eye towards this wayward woman, was that she was irreligious and contemptible and deserved all the criticism that came to her. Our Lord and Our Friend, see things differently.

Let us all see things through the eyes of Our Lord and Our Friend, something we all need to do, if we are to be His Hands and feet.

Do you see the paradox, the woman who was a prostitute knew more about the Grace of Our Lord and Our Friend, then a priest and elder in the church.

God Bless.
