Prayer Changes Things

prayer

Matthew 6 verse 9 to 13:

Therefore, we should have a way to pray,  Our Lord and Our Friend gave us, a model of a prayer, we can come before The Throne Of God with.

Our Father in heaven,

Your Name be honored and holy,

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

and forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors,

And do not bring us into temptation.

but deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and power and the glory forever.

Amen.

We all know this as the Lord’s Prayer. It is an example prayer, looking at the previous two verses of Matthew 6 verses 7 and 8;

V7: “When you pray, don’t babble like the idolaters, since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words”.

Thinking we will be heard because we have a lot to say.

V8: “Don’t be like them, because your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him”.

He knows everything, He just wants to hear it from us, because our full dependance, should be on Him, and in all of Who He is.

Esteem Him. Glorify Him, as this prayer is really saying, that as we Glorify and Esteem Him, we are asking, Him to be Gloried in and through our lives.
When we look at this model prayer, after we have accepted God’s offer John 3 verse 16 to 18:

Through repentance and acceptance, we have entered His Kingdom, we are His kingdom people, the way, now for that Kingdom to be more effective, is for us all, to be more effective as Kingdom people.

Then the model prayer tells us to express our dependance, by asking for our daily needs, not needs that are years ahead of time. The Manna in the Old Testament was fresh every morning, the daily need for our lives, is a daily freshness of Him.

Then the model prayer goes through things that would hold up His daily freshness from coming to our lives, Forgive us, for our faults and failings, as we forgive and not criticize other people we know, for things they have done to hurt us.

Then the model prayer, asks for Him to keep us way from Temptation, and deliver us from evil. He has delivered us from evil once and for all through The Cross. So we should really be asking Him, to help us in our daily walk, where we will still have, faults and failings,{we are sinners saved by Grace but become sinners under transformation}. His help, so temptations can not get the best of us, for the best of us is reserved for Him.

We finish by Glorying and praising Him, we should be continually praising Him. Praising Him, because He is All-Powerful, because He is our All- Sufficiency, by His Grace and His Mercy we are forgiven, by His Omnipresence He is always near us to help.

“For Yours is the Kingdom and Power and Glory forever, Help us to understand more and more Lord, you are all we need.

God Bless.
