Special
Proverbs 27:9 The Passion Translation “Sweet friendships refresh the
soul and awaken our hearts to joy, for good friends are like the anointing
oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s Presence.”

As I was pondering what to write about today, I came across a little
plaque that was given to each woman at a fellowship group which a
friend was running, many years ago. This friend has gone home to be
with our Lord and Friend, but the memories of those special times linger
on; as does the memory of her and the difference she made in many
lives. I can’t remember the name of the group, but she loved to bless the
women with a beautiful setting of fine china, delicious afternoon tea and
great fellowship. Friendships were formed and souls were refreshed. I
feel like there was the sweet fragrance of God’s Presence as we spent
time together, encouraging and caring for each other.

“‘ Special’ is a word that is used to describe something one-of-a-kind like
a hug, a sunset or a person who spreads love with a smith or gesture.

‘Special’ describes people who act from the heart and keep in mind the
hearts of others.

‘Special’ applies to something that is admired and
precious and which can never be replaced. ‘Special’ is the word that
best describes you.”

1 Peter 2:9 NKJV “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises
of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”.

I hope you know that you are special. Our Lord and Our Friend, Jesus Christ
died, was buried and rose again, and now He ever lives to make
intercession for us. What a Savior! Have a blessed week.
