Dealing with Difficulties Intimacy
We are created by Love, to receive love, and to give love. We all long for unconditional
acceptance and closeness. We want to be cared for, known, understood, and loved for who
we are. Intimacy has been described as “into-me-see”.

God is the starting place for this kind of intimacy. If we cannot get intimacy with God Who
is perfect, then we will struggle to be intimate with imperfect people. Yet if we can be
intimate with God, He can and will show us how to be free to experience the kind of intimacy
in relationships we all desire.

What does it mean to experience intimacy with God? It means we are ‘never alone’. It
means we have peace. It means we can be courageous and capable of overcoming, not matter
the circumstance. John 16:31-33 TPT

4 beliefs that are key to learning and experiencing intimacy with God, are:

1. God is interested in me

2. I can be completely truthful with God

3. I can be vulnerable with God

4. God empowers me

Psalm 139 3-4 TPT “You are so intimately aware of me, Lord, You read my heart like an
open book and You know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence.
You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.”

John chapter 17 verse 3 “and this is eternal life, that they know You the only true God, and
Jesus Christ whom You have sent”.

How can I have real love, until l we know the unconditional Love that Our Creator God has
for me? How can we love ourselves if we have no sense of purpose? Jeremiah 29:11
God is a God of restoration, and if we have let ourselves down in areas of intimacy, God is
waiting, for us to ask Him for help. He wants us to be whole and fulfilled in every are of our
lives. Our Lord and Friend has promised He will never leave nor forsake us, and in this are
of intimacy in relationships; whether it be marriage, family or friendships; He will give us
wisdom and grace to grow and mature.

Intimacy with the Lord is the foundation of everything in life, including ministry.
