What Do You Have

Many people think God could not possibly use them, because they are not well versed, or they don’t have much to give, or they have to many problems, that would need to be fixed, before they could be effectively used.

We serve an incredible God, and Matthew 19 verse 26: tells us:

“But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible’.”

Our Lord and Our Friend looks at us differently, so we should start looking at ourselves from His point of view. He loves us and gave Himself for us, so we are of worth to Him. Imagine that The Creator God values us, not as the world values, but values us, with His genuine love.

If we come to Him, and accept the great love of John 3 verse 16: We will understand, Jeremiah 29 verse 11, He has plans  for us.

2 Kings 4: A woman who had just become a widow, and owed a lot of money, and was threatened with losing her two children as slaves. She called out to a man of God Elisha.

{Paraphrased part of the story}

“The woman cried out to Elisha, ‘My husband has died, He loved and served God and belonged to one of the prophet schools. Now I am in real trouble because he owed money, The man he owed says he will take my two boys as slaves, if I don’t pay the debt. But i haven’t any money, Please help me?'”

Could have been a problem for Elisha too. Elisha was a poor prophet as well. But she came to the right person Elisha was a man of God. No doubt he quickly asked God, ‘what can be done’?

God told Elisha, what to do. Elisha asked the woman, ‘What do you have?’ The woman replies. ‘Nothing but a small jar of oil’

The rest to the story is a great encouragement, for all and a great read to get our understanding into.

From the little the woman had, God turned it into many jars of oil, and she repaid her commitments.

No matter what problem we may be facing at the present, God will always ask, ‘What do you have’.

Then we need to believe, it is not our problems, or how little we have, “With God all things are possible”.

Maybe we wonder how God can use us, again, “What do you have”. and leave the rest to our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend.

God Bless.

Everything we do or say should be done in the Name of The Lord, small or big. Unfortuantely we live in a society that really only wants to hear the important events, and many small things to praise God for go un-noticed, that was the underlining factor to our article. God can use us, even if we feel insignificant, because He is All-powerful Jehovah-Gibbor {The Lord is Mighty} Isaiah 42 v 13: Thanks again for taking the time to write to us, God bless OFJ {Old Fellow John}
