From The Heart

Yes Lord

We have just had a couple of weeks away, sadly a family funeral which we decided to combine with some holiday time for my husband and I.

During our time, we watched a few movies, and one featured the late evangelist, Billy Graham. There was a short clip of one of his sermons in which he was saying that he didn’t want to be a preacher and that he didn’t even like church. But the call of God was upon him and finally he said, ‘ok Lord whatever You want’. As Billy Graham was saying, we are all called to minister; and ministry is really about serving those whom God has placed around us; in whatever capacity He enables us.

Romans chapter 12 talks about the transforming power of the Gospel: Christian conduct. We are exhorted to present our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice – an act of worship.

Verses 6 to 9 NLT “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift of showing kindness, do it gladly.”

Each one of us has a God-given purpose and destiny and the Lord says in Philippians 2:13 “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him”. I am so grateful that our Lord and Friend doesn’t leave us to do life alone. Whatever He has called us to do, He has already equipped us for, and He says “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” He is a good, good Father.

May you find delight this week as you serve.

Rich blessings.

Kath
