Building upon the Rock.

Matthew 7 verse 24:

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock”.

Great structure depend on strong foundations. This is just as true with our faith, faith to needs strong foundations, if we are to grow into the people, God created us to be.

God is three in one {Trinity}, The Father The Son and The Holy Spirit and all equally God. We are a three part being body, soul and spirit.

What do we know about God? Well nearly everybody would say, ‘He loves us’. This is a fact, and a fact we need to build into our lives: “The God that created us, Loves us.” So that a good start but, how much of God can we know.

Deuteronomy 29 verse 29:”The hidden things belong to The Lord our God. but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of the law.”

Galatians 5 verse 13 and 14: ” V 13 For you are called to freedom, brothers {and sisters} only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. V 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

In Deuteronomy we see two things, God has kept certain things from being known, but God has chosen to reveal many things too. I don’t know about anybody else’s knowledge, but there are so many things about God, in the things He has chosen to reveal to us, that are  more than enough for me to comprehend.

Back to the question what do we know about God, not what we have heard, but what we know to be true.  Here are some of the Knowing truths:

God is infinite:     God is without beginning and end. Psalm 90 verse 2.

God is independent:    God is self -existent and independent, from His creation. Psalm 115 verse 3.

God is Omnipresence:  God is present everywhere, Psalm 139 verse 7 to 12.  And for all who believe His Spirit lives inside us all.

God is Omniscience:     God knows all things Psalm 139 verse 1 to 4. That is where we can really build our foundations, He knows all about us.

God is Immutability:    God is unchanging James 1 verse 17. His love for us will never change.

Last but not least God is Omnipotent:   God is all-powerful Revelation 19 verse 6. But He finished what He had to do on the cross, it is now for us to walk in the all-powerful God.
