From The Heart

Everyday blessings
Today we have been getting some long-awaited rain, which has also
been falling all night. Whilst it is very welcome, there also come
challenges such as venturing out for appointments etc, in sometimes
erratic traffic on the roads.

We were scheduled to go for a necessary appointment around
lunchtime, but early this morning I received a phone call from the agency
to say that they were calling clients to see if the appointment could be
conducted on the phone to avoid travel on the road. I was so grateful.
Absolutely grateful. How thoughtful. All the necessary points were
completed over the phone, and a successful outcome was achieved.

I am very aware that many are going through dark valleys of hardship
and sometimes sorrow, and in the midst of each valley there are
blessings to be encountered. The Scriptures talk about “the treasures of
darkness” in Isaiah 45:3 AMPC “I will give you the treasures of darkness
and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, the
Lord, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name.”

It has been in the difficult times, the ‘dark’ times, when I have come
closest to our Lord and Friend as He has shown Himself faithful, kind,
loving and good. “A friend Who sticks closer than a brother.” Often it’s
the simplest thing; something small and maybe unnoticed by another,
that has blessed my heart. Like today, I looked out my office window and
there was a lorikeet, a very colorful small bird, searching through the
shrubs off our patio looking for some food. God’s creation is full of
beauty and delight as we take time to look.

May you find time this week to see His beauty in your life, as He draws
near to you and fills your heart and life with His goodness and
“treasures”.

Shalom. Kath
