From The Heart

This is the day

A song I learned when I was first born-again, says “This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it”. Psalm 118 verse 24.

As I was reading through Psalm 118 today (NJKV), some other verses were highlighted to me.

Verse 5 “I called on the Lord in my distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place” The Passion Translation of this verse says ‘Out of my deep anguish and pain I prayed, and God, you helped me as a father. You came to my rescue and broke open the way into a beautiful and broad place”.

Verse 8 “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man”.

Verse 14 “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.”

Verse 17 “I shall not die but live, and declare the works of the Lord”

Verse 21 “I will praise You, for You have answered me, and have become my salvation”.

“Salvation” in the Enhanced Strong’s Dictionary = deliverance.

A-Welfare, prosperity. B-deliverance C-salvation (by God) D Victory.

Some other words mentioned in the Dictionary under ‘salvation’ are health and help/helping.

As I mediate on these passages, I can indeed rejoice that this is the day that the Lord has made. I will praise Him for He has answered me; He came to my rescue, breaking open the way into a beautiful and broad place. His Presence. He indeed is my strength and song.

I choose to put my trust in Him, and even though I don’t always see my breakthrough today, I know that He is faithful and will bring me through whatever. Verse 25 TPT “Oh God, please come and save us again; bring us your breakthrough-victory!

“His constant tender love lasts forever”.
