Scripture Verse Of The Week

Psalm 92 verse 13:

“Planted in the house of the Lord, they thrive in the courtyards of our God”.

We have all heard of the story of The Three Little Pigs; The first little pig built a house with straw, the second little pig built a house with sticks, and the third little pig built a house with bricks.

This is a good story of building something that last, giving of our best, but if we are to look at this story from a biblical perspective, it is not what we build out of, it is where we build.

Jeremiah 17 verse 5: “This is what The Lord says; ‘Cursed is the man who trust in mankind, who make human flesh his strength and turns his heart from The Lord”.

It is where we build, makes the difference, Matthew 7 verse 24 to 27; The Two Foundations: Tells us if we listen to the things Our Lord and Our Friend is trying to tell us, and we act on them, we will be like a sensible person and build our house on the Rock.

Just as The Three Little Pigs had an adversary the Big Bad Wolf wanting to destroy them. We too have an adversary Satan, who would like to destroy us and our relationship with Our Lord and Our Friend. 1 Peter 5 verse 8:

“Be sober, Be on the alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour”.

Remember it is not about the building, it is about where we build. Satan can huff and puff all he likes too, but once we have listened to The Word, and built upon The Rock, we will be like a tree planted in Jeremiah 92: verse 13 to 15:

We will thrive in the courtyard of Our God.

We will bear fruit in old age.

We will declare ‘The Lord is just and is Our Rock’.

No huffing or puffing, or roaring by our adversary Satan, will be able to destroy us.

God Bless.
