You can read about Rahab in Joshua Chapter 2.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, God can use your life, and turn it around and give you a great eternal destiny and purpose.

Leading up the the Battle of Jericho, Joshua sent two spies into Jericho to reconnaissance the opposition, in the strongly fortified city. After entering Jericho, the spies quickly made their way to Rahab’s house.The house was probably an inn or a brothel. Rahab was apparently a prostitute.

The king of Jericho found out about the spies, and searched the city. Rahab cleverly admitted seeing them, but said they had left the city by night fall. Actually the spies were hiding under the stalks of flax on the roof of Rahab’s house .Rahab then told the spies, the reason for her complicity with the Israelites’ cause, because she feared their God, and that He would give them victory.

For Rahab’s help the spies agreed to save her and her family. The sign was a scarlet chord hanging from her window. The chord was a symbol of The blood covering {going back to the Exodus, where they place the blood of the scarified Lamb om the door post, and all who were behind the door were safe when the angel of death passed by}.

Rahab became the wife of Salmon and mother of Boaz. and thus an ancestor of Jesus. Mathew 1 verse 5.

Lesson we can learn from Rahab, is that Rahab didn’t let fear effect her Faith in God’s ability to deliver.  Faith can transform, Rahab was a prostitute, but end up in the ancestry from which the deliverer would come.

Rahab is one of only two woman mentioned in the Faith chapter Hebrews 11. Rahab is also mentioned in James 2 verse 25.

Verse to remember Hebrews 11 verse 31: “By faith Rahab the prostitute received the spies in peace, and didn’t perish with those who disobeyed.

Highlight of the story. Our Lord and Our Friend can use anybody who applies their Faith in Him.
