Scripture Verse Of The Week

Psalm 23 Verse 6: “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever”.

And from my usual version: “only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord and long as I live.”

‘The house of the Lord’ is the sanctuary where people worshiped. {The temple, in the Hebrew OT, is usually called ‘beth Yahweh, The Lord’s House}

After meditation David desired to return to that Holy Place where he could avail himself of the blessing of God’s Presence.

In the Christian application of the Psalm the hope is for complete communion with The Lord in the abundance of His blessing.

Interesting reflection, The though here often relates to heaven. but the phrase in the presence of my enemies in Verse 5, suggests that because believers have no enemies in heaven, the communion with Our Lord and Our Friend, has started to moment we accept Him as Our Lord and Redeemer.

Some thing we should take hold of with all that is within us, ‘We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever’ has started in our lives Now.

Romans 8 verse 1: Tells us “No condemnation Now exists for those in Christ Jesus’

Resurrection Life in us has started, Romans 8 Verse 9: “You {we however are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Holy Spirit lives in you {Us who believe}

Living in the House of the Lord forever, don’t wait for it to start, start living it Now.

God Bless
