Following Jesus, Jesus earthly life as one of us was like a rock star. Where ever He goes the crowds follow Him. Following Him to watch the spectacular signs that occurred wherever He went. Jesus had chosen twelve disciples to follow Him, but one of them Judas was following Him for the wrong reasons.

On two distinct occasions He performed basically the same type of miracle, He used five loaves and two fish to feed 5000. Mark 6 verse 30 to 44. On the second occasion He uses seven leaves and two small fish to feed 4000. Mark 8 verses 1 to 10.

Some have seen these two occasions as the same event, but there is a distinct difference. One takes place in Jewish territory, the other in Gentile territory, making a statement that ‘Whosoever’ may follow. Jesus answers the spiritual needs though His Words, and the physical needs by His actions.

Following Jesus to meet out deep spiritual needs, because we are created in His image, to commune with Him, Following Jesus for our physical needs. This world is temporal, we will not be here that long, maybe 100 years or a bit more, in our earthly bodies.

Why are we following Jesus?  Is it to get the love, we have never been given? Is it because we are expecting Him, to break into history, and fix all life’s ills? Is it because we like the words that He spoke, and the miracles He performed?

Jesus is much more than a great historical figure, Jesus is much more than a great orator. Jesus is much more than a star performer. Jesus is much more than a rebel Who die on a cross.

Jesus is The Christ, who came to Redeem us from from the curse of the law. Jesus is The Christ, Who gave Himself for us, to pay the price, for our transgressions that separated us, from The Father and Himself. Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Life, no man come to The Father but by Him. {John 14 verse 6}.

We are not only to be followers, but imitators followers, faith, learning, imitating, love, guidance, direction.living Him, imagine how that would change the world around us.
