1 Peter 2 Verse 11: ” Dear Friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.”

We are in the world but not of it. Jesus refuse to pray that his disciples should be removed from the world. ” My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.John 17 Verse 15.

Peter all the Christian he is addressing as ‘strangers and pilgrims’.

Pilgrims the meaning of the word Pilgrim is: A person who travels a long distance as an act of devotion.Pilgrims citizens of Heaven, as citizens of The Kingdom of Heaven, we are subject to the King Of Kings.

We are exhorted to live in this temporary. abode in accord with the will of Our Lord and Our Friend.

Pilgrims are witnesses. We should be seeking others to join others to join us in our Christian journey.

V 12 of 1 Peter 2: Peter exhorts believers: “Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles so that is a case where they speak against you as to do evil, they may , be observing your good works, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Our pilgrimage is essential, in it we display the risen Lord, by which we influence others, to help know Him as their Lord, their Redeemer and their friend.
