I had the amazing privilege of being raised in a Christian home, with parents who valued the word of God. As such my upbringing, was filled with my feet following God’s path, and His words, principals, and ideals forming my very being. Guess it goes to show that Proverbs 22:6 has some basis:
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it .”
But one of the biggest things that my parents taught me, was the ideals behind honoring. Not just those that we love, or from those that we could profit from, but from those who deserve it! Now this was hard to learn. It was easy for me, second nature even, to give honor and credit to my friends and family. But I struggled with celebrating when those I didn’t hold in such great esteem did a good job, it was hard for me to feel anything but jealousy.
Thankfully our Christian life is one of constant growing and learning, and as I grew, I started to see that I had no reason to ever be jealous of anyone else. God has created me for a unique purpose. He has formed me to do something in which only I can do. As is everyone else. We aren’t down here competing with one another, we’re here to do His work, and do it to the best of our ability.
So instead of being jealous I started to take joy and celebrate with those I may not have liked so much, because they were on the road to reaching what God had called them to do. And that is a great thing! There isn’t one person capable enough to carry out the entire work of God. We’re in it together and should help each other, not because we begrudgingly feel it’s the right thing to do, but because the fate of the world and all it’s occupants has been delegated to all of us!
Romans 13:7 “Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”
And so in that vain we would like to make a habit of being honoring in all that we do. This week we would love to acknowledge all the people that follow us, that have had a positive impact on this ministry. Please enjoy reading their profiles and the articles. We would publicly like to honor them, for what they have done for Old Fellow John and myself. Many of them wouldn’t even know it!
We encourage you to visit the sites of the people who are following us.and look at the great faith they are expressing, follow them, like them, subscribe to them, and be touched by them in the way we are. It is such an honor and a pleasure to serve with such wonderful dedicated Christians.
ENJOY!!
Be Blessed
