Scripture Verse Of The Week

lev 11

Leviticus 11 verse 44: “For I Am the Lord your God, so you must consecrate yourselves to be holy because I am holy.”

Consecrate; Dictionary meaning: ‘To dedicate to special or sacred purpose, set apart;

Philippians 2 verse 5:”Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus.”

The Apostle Paul message to the Philippians in Chapter 2; Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of Himself. when the time came, He set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of slave, became human one us.

Christ Jesus Our Lord and Our Friend, set Himself apart, to become one of us, to die as one of us, rise from the dead for us.

‘Make our attitudes that of Jesus’, being willing to lay down all we have, to be use for great purposes by Him.

Perhaps as we ponder this though, Matthew 10 verse 38 and 39: {Message Bible}; We will understand, the real reason why we should consecrate, set ourselves apart, to make our attitude Like Christ Jesus.

“If you don’t go all the way with Me {Jesus}, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve Me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you will find yourself and me.’

Set-apart, being identified by what we believe and it comes from ‘Knowing’ God just not ‘knowing’ about Him.

Set-apart to ‘Know’ Him more and more which is our purpose and destiny in life.

Set-apart for relationship with Him, to live with His Holy Spirit working through our lives.

Set-apart: Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

And His promise is true to those who are set-apart. Hebrews 13 verse 5:

“I will never leave you or forsake you”.

God Bless.
