THE RELATIONSHIP CONFRONTATION AS A CHRISTIAN
Becoming a Christian does not mean we now find all the answers to life and that our relationships with others will be just perfect and blessed. There are many obstacles in learning how to interact with human beings let alone those who have changed to God followers with zeal. Dealing with reality in the walk of Christ and with Christ can be a challenging one and indeed ‘a new life’. Here are some guidelines to ponder, many starting with the letter ‘R’.
REALIZE that as a member of a family there will be times of division so be aware you need to listen with respect and accept the REALITY and the TRUTH of a situation.
REFLECT before RELATING.
RECOGNIZE and RESPOND spiritually. (Everyone is precious to God)
Lean on discernment as to the underlying problem. (How would the Lord REACT? Are you Judgemental?) Are you able to define the problem?) Lies can bind us but truth will liberate and REVEAL light.
Stay calm-pray silently-is peace REQUIRED?
Can you compromise-Seek wisdom. Hear what is being said. Is the other hurting?
Can you both come to a RESOLUTION?
Is God presenting a RESOLUTION through you and what is your ROLE in this and ask God to use you to
RECONNECT and RESOLVE through you.
Above all, represent love with REALITY and be blessed. Does the situation need more time to be changed?
ISAIAH 42 ‘Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight. I will put my spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations (people). He will not shout or cry out or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faith he will bring justice.’ (verses 1-3)
