We all enjoy a good rest. Matthew 11 verse 28 Jesus is offering us all rest:

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.

One of the meanings of rest is: Freedom from worry and disturbance.  But in Christ Jesus, we have a greater rest. Romans 8 verse 1: There is also no condemnation. so we are free from worry, disturbance and much more.

We would all enjoy our burdens to be lighter. Matthew 11 verse 29: Exchanges our yoke of burdens:

“All of you, take up My yoke and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves“.

Gentle and humble people, no wonder the world has it all wrong, they are the types of qualities, not wanted in a dog eat dog world.

Jesus doesn’t only want to give us rest, He wants to change the way we do things, perhaps that is what He is also saying in Matthew 6 verse 33:

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you”.

Once we have had a personal, direct revelation of The King’s Love {Christ Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords}, all striving to earn His approval comes to an end. Again the world has it wrong

Instead of resting from work, we work from rest, we have In Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend.
