Faith In Action ‘Being Vessels’

Our life is to be a vessel for Our Lord and Our Friend. If we look at the word ‘vessel’, we generally think of ships the cross the high seas. Well we are vessels for His Glory in the darkness of the sea of this world. Being a vessel for His glory, we should also be a channel for His blessing to others.

John 7 verse 38: “The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him {or her}.”

It is always good to look at what that means from a different translation, the Amplified Bible does what it says and amplifies the verse, for deeper meaning.

“He {or she} who believes in Me — who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me — as The Scripture has said, Out from his {or her} innermost being springs and rivers of living water shall flow continually.”

This is talking about The Spirit of God being in our lives, flowing through our lives, from our inner being, deep within us, where we have taken Him into every area of our lives, including the engine room of our lives.

We all have a place in our lives, and to put it easily a place that responds to what we value, ‘what makes us tick’. Before we come to Repentance to God, and Acceptance of Our Lord, Our Savior and Our Friend, different things, we would value would ‘make us tick’, but now He becomes the source of our lives, and He becomes the source of value in our lives. We are no longer easily swayed by ‘what makes us tick’, we are flowing with the goodness that He has for our lives, and we can not contain it,  and it will flow out of our lives for the benefit others.

Galatians 2 verse 20: {Amplified Bible}:

“I have been crucified with Christ — [in Him] I have shared His crucifixion; it is no longer I who live, but Christ, The Messiah, lives in  me; and the life i now live in the body I live by faith — by adherence to and reliance on and [complete] trust — in The Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

A challenge to us all  as believers is, does a fresh spring flow out of us day after day, or have we somehow blocked the flow, by things He would prefer us not to do. Have we turned to the old ways, of ‘what makes us tick’, instead of being excited by the fullness He has for our lives, on a daily bases.

God Bless.
