Impluse To Do What Is Right

impluse

Romans 7 verses 13 to 25: Is about the problem of Sin {Wrong-doings} in us;

The Apostle Paul portrays these verse as an ongoing conflict, within the human soul, between the power of impulse and doing the right thing.

V15: “For I do not understand what I am doing, because i do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate”.

V16: “And if I do what I do not want to do, i agree with the law that it is good”.

v17: “So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me”.

V18: “For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is my flesh For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it”.

V19: “For I do not do the good I want to do, but i practice the evil that I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but it is the sin that lives in me”.

There is not one moment when we as a Christian do not still feel caught between the claims of Law {doing what is right} and the claims of our wills. There are wonderful times and situations when law {doing what is right} and desire flow together, producing spontaneous action, the Fruit of The Spirit. But there are places all along the journey in life, when the two are in conflict.

Is this conflict easily overcome by living the scripture: Galatians 2 v 19 and 20:

V19: “For through the law I have died to the law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ”.

V20: “and I no longer, live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, i live by faith in The Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.

Perhaps the Reflective Moment, Food for Thought is; we can’t do it by ourselves, we need help, and everything we do or say, we should come before the Throne of Grace first and ask for it.

God Bless.
