Sunday Encouragement

If this is your day for rest you still need encouragement, be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from  Hebrews 12 verse 2.

Hebrews 12 verse 2;

“Keeping your eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross, and despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne”.

In order to stay spiritually fresh we must keep our eyes fully focused on Our Lord and Our Friend. he is our example, He was always confident, always assured, always in the right place, always doing, the right thing at the right time.

We could use the fact, that He was God manifest in The Flesh but He came to live as one of us, to live the way we live, to live in places where we live. He had emptied Himself of His divine Glory to do this. He was committed to what He came to do, at anytime He could of called it off, but because of His Great love for us, He saw through the task that would Redeem us back to Him and The Father,

Ultimate humility to achieve the task He came to do. He could have lost His focus, and said enough is enough and abandon the task. Ultimate Love for His creation which includes you and I. He stayed focused, to pay the price, to bring us redemption from the power of sin and death.

Never once do we read in scripture that He experienced spiritual staleness, or confess to being out of touch with heaven. Even after a period of prolonged fasting in the wilderness when He face His strongest temptation, He was not exhausted or distressed, but ‘in the power of the Spirit’, He maintained His freshness and vigor for the task.

Therefore, when Our Lord and Our Friend gets our attention, He also gets us. Our focus must be person-centered, not problem-centered, and that Person must be the One who has perfect Love for us, Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Our Friend.
