When we are facing crisis, it is good to know and understand we have a loving Lord, Redeemer and Friend, in Whom we can put our trust. Anne the wife of OFJ, is going through her own crisis, of treatment for pancreas cancer, for the last 17 months, after only being given 4 months to live without treatment. All through her crisis of illness, Anne’s faith has remained strong, as it was before the unexpected crisis hit. We had the privilege of being able to read a devotional Anne wrote, so we present it now, as a testimony of faith in a crisis.
From the Book of Daniel. Daniel faced 3 crises, and the Lord gave him victory in each of them.
The first crisis, a work crisis, when the officials heard that Daniel might be promoted they were envious and wanted to get rid of him. The unbelieving world does not want a believer in charge even if he or she is gifted and efficient. The light always believes what happens in darkness.
The second, a prayer crisis, the officials lied, when they used the word all, for that gave the king the idea that Daniel agreed with them. But no laws or threats could keep Daniel from his times of prayer. Prayer {communication} with Our Lord and Our Friend, should never be stopped by the threats of others.
The Third, the crisis of consequence. The consequences of Daniel’s faith, had him thrown in a lions den. Daniels faith is a testimony for us all. and using a verse from Isaiah 12 verse 2:
“Indeed, God is my salvation. I will trust Him and not be afraid. Because Yah*, The Lord, is my strength and my salvation”.
No matter what crisis, or crises, we may face, Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend has the answer, an answer in His Word, that will help build our faith to get through.
Be Blessed.
Anne.
