Self importance is different from self worth, we all have a value to God. because He sent His Son Christ Jesus to pay a price we couldn’t pay, Self importance thinks they we are better than others, but God is no respecter of persons, we are all equal in His sight.
The Sadducees, in Bible times, had a problem with self Importance, they acted like aristocrats. There self important attitude, ran The Lord out of the temple. There teaching went against, some of the most basic teaching of The Bible. Matthew 22 verse 23: This was a discussion about the resurrection:
“That same day some Sadducees stepped forward— a group of Jews who say there is no resurrection after death”
We need to be big enough to see past ourselves and what we believe, and to believe that all things are possible with God..
Like the Sadducees and their own self-importance, we can be tempted to doubt the supernatural details of God’s Word.
Unlike the Sadducees, we must be willing to die to self, and stand in awe of Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, so our lives can become vessels for Him to do all things through.
Self-importance, is self seeking, but having died to self, we must be continually God seeking.
