Rest And Sleep

rest

With rest there comes a stillness, with sleep you might get some rest, but still  be unfulfilled. Psalm 37 verse 7: {NKJV}

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him {or her} who prospers in his {or her} way, Because of the man {or woman} who brings wicked schemes to pass”.

We often toss and turn in our sleep, and not have a good night rest, which I have found with the treatment I am on, so I have turned to the scriptures as I always do on a subject, and I am I am learning, relearning to, “rest in The Lord and wait patiently for Him”.

Learning to Rest in Him, and not worry about whether, I am going to have a good sleep or not. Rest in Him, just enjoying His presence around my life, I may lay in that state for sometime, and then without thinking about it, doze off, but then when I wake, wake refreshed, because I first waited on Him.

There is nothing unusual some might say, but I have found from what, He wants me to learn, when I do wake up, after what seems to be a short time of actual sleep, I am somehow more refreshed, then getting several hours more sleep.

Call off the doctors! I am not subscribing to a new sleep pattern, I am and just simply saying, I have learned more of the awesomeness of resting IN Him.

Matthew 11 verse 28 and 29:

V 28:“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.

V 29: “All of you, take My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves”.

Psalm 37 verse 7: From the New Living Translation:

“Be still in the presence of The Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act”.

Be still in the presence of The Lord. The verb describes a calm surrender to the Lord. Creative silence is a rare thing these day, even in a church service, People in general cannot tolerate silence, but unless we learn to wait silently before Our Lord and Our Friend, we will never really experience His peace.

Matthew 11 verse 28: Jesus says, ‘Come’, which is an act of surrender. The world and it systems on the subject of surrender, would say,’it shall happen and if it doesn’t happen there is something wrong with the participant”.

Rest In the Lord and we are resting in The All Knowing, All Powerful, and All Loving God, and we will learn more about Him. We will find a deeper peace, because we trust Him more.

It is apart of the transformation process He has , for all those willing to trust In Him. Psalm 37 verse 3: {NKJV}

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness”.

In His rest, we get more than just sleep, we can feed of His Faithfulness as nourishment for our lives. Our lives need to be more about Him, and less about our own preconceived concepts.

God Bless
