We can’t be good at everything, but we need to excel at all we do.
Isaiah 41 verse 7:
The craftsman encourages the metal worker; the one who flattens with the hammer supports; the one who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering.’It is good’. He fastens it with nails so that it will not fall over.”
The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 12, was talking about the ‘diversity of gifts’ and ‘unity yet diversity in the Body {Body Of Christ, the church}.
I was listen to a show the other day and the were asking children what they wanted to be when they grew up. A lot of the children said things like, singing star, superhero, there might be many great singers in The Body of Christ, but there is no stars, there are no superheros in the Body of Christ also. But still many adults want to be that kind of person.
Take for instance Pilots, they do a great job flying air-crafts around the place, but they couldn’t be pilots if somebody didn’t build the plane. They couldn’t not be pilots if somebody doesn’t maintain the plane, to keep in flying. They couldn’t be pilot, to take passengers on journeys, unless there was ground support staff.
The Body of Christ needs a diversity of talents, an no position in the Body, is more important then another.
1 Corinthians 12 is telling us that we cannot be good at everything in our service for The Lord. So we need to exercise our own gift to the full, but make sure we encourage others in theirs. When was the last time we encouraged somebody in church, whether it is the Pastor, the greeter, the usher, the morning maker, etc.
Encouragement is a shining cloth, that helps the Body of Christ, work more effectively. Excel in what we do, and also excel at encouragement.
God Bless.
