There is a different between childish, where we never grow up, and being, childlike lovingly dependent and trusting. Our Lord and Our friend wants us all to be lovingly dependent and trusting in Him.
Mark 10 verse 15: “I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
This verse doesn’t mean, Our Lord and Our Friend was not commending unthinking credulity to enter the Kingdom, as if Christians must be fools. He was commending an attitude of dependence, without which it is impossible to be saved. Sin {wrong-doing against God} is fundamentally independence from the rightful rule of God, and unbelief can be as much a matter of the will as of the intellect.
With that in mind, I was remembering an old song we use to sing in Children’s church, and its, go something like this, and even though the song is full of truth, it doesn’t require intellectual understanding, it requires a dependent and responsive heart to sing.
Victory, I have in Jesus Christ.
Forgiveness for He was crucified
Wholeness in every part of me,
Forgiveness for He has set me free.
I reigning with Christ upon The throne,
Defeating Satan’s power below,
I am living a life with Christ as Lord and King.
Victory: 1 Corinthians 15 verse 57;
“But thanks be to God, who gives us VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Forgiveness: Colossians 1 verse 13 and 14:
V13: “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves,”
V14: “in Whom we have redemption, the FORGIVENESS of sins.”
Wholeness: 1 Peter 2 verse 24:
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sin, we might live for righteousness; by His wounding you have been healed.” Wholeness before God.
Deliverance: 2 Corinthians 1 verse 10:
“He has DELIVERED us from such a terrible death, and He will deliver us; we have placed our hope in Him that He will deliver us again.”
Reigning: 2 Timothy 2 verse 12:
“If we endure, we will also REIGN with Him;if we deny Him, He will also deny us”.
Conquering: 1 John 5 verse 5:
“And who is the one who CONQUERS the world, but the one who Believes that Jesus is The Son of God.”
Living: Philippians 1 verse 21:
“For me, LIVING is Christ and dying is gain.”
It is a great tune to sing, to remind ourselves who we are in Christ Jesus, and a great tune to remind the evil one, he is a defeated foe.
God Bless.
