As our scripture verse of the week says “for all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God’
We were born into sin.
Adam and Eve failed and all creation followed them into sin.
Jesus said in Luke 4 verse 18 ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. (poor in spirit). He has sent Me to proclaim FREEDOM to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. to set free the oppressed.’
The freedom referred to is a release or foregiveness from the power of sin.
Galatians 5 verse 1 Christ has liberated us into freedom.
Galatians 5 verse 13 For you are called to freedom, brothers and sisters only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.
Love your neighbor as yourself
2 Corinthians 3 verse 17 “where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.”
Reading on in 2 Corinthians 3 verse 7 to 17. It is speaking about a new covenant ministry.
Moses in the old covenant used to put a veil over his face so the people of Israel could not look at even the fading Glory after Moses had been in the presence of God.
Not that God’s glory ever fades, but Moses needed to go in to the presence of God and it would linger as Moses was walking out. The people’s minds were closed, to this day at the reading of the Old covenant, the same veil remains, it is not lifted because it is set aside in Christ Jesus only.
People had to use a veil to come before God.
Now through the acceptance of Christ Jesus we can be unveiled before Him, because Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross.
2 Corinthians 3 verse 18 We all with unveiled faces, are reflecting the Glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.
Freedom is a new and living way to walk.
The song Amazing Grace quotes “I was blind but now I see.” He was not physically blind. He was blinded by sin. He found the FREEDOM and Forgiveness of Christ Jesus.
Search and know the scriptures and find your freedom In Him, Our Lord and Our Friend.
