Now is the time to worship
We are in the winter season in my country. The weather this week is
cold and rainy. It’s a time when one of my sisters tells me ‘its hibernation
time’, and that can feel so comforting; with time to recover and take time
out to meditate on what the Lord has done in the past season, and
where He is taking us in this new season. To ‘be still and know that He
is God’.
One morning this week I awoke with the lines of a song in my heart.
‘Come, now is the time to worship – come just as you are to worship’.
As I looked into it, I heard that the songwriter had been in a time of
transition and challenges. As he was walking downtown, he heard the
invitation of the opening words of this song. I love how Holy Spirit often
brings the words of a song or a text from a friend just at the right time.
He gives us songs of deliverance.
We personally had been going through a valley experience. Psalm 23
verses 4 and 5 encourage and comfort us with “yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are
with me; Your rod and Your staff , they comfort me.’ The rod and staff
symbolize the nature of our Lord and Friend, His protection and
guidance.
How wonderful to know He is always with us, to guide us when we can’t
see clearly which way to go. Knowing He is totally trustworthy and full of
love and wisdom gives us peace that He indeed ‘will work all things
together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His
purpose.”
Have a blessed and refreshing and restorative week wrapped in His
Presence.
Shalom.
Kath
