With the start of a new year, we can always learn from the past and look forward to the future with excitement of knowing the Creator of the Universe loves us.

We can learn from Jeremaih, he was wondering out loud how a people who God recued from Egypt and preserved through many miracles could forget The Lord who delivered them and turned to vain idols.

Jeremiah in his grieving answered his own question by saying: {Jer 10 Verse 23}

“I know, Lord, that a man’s way of life is not his own no one who walks determines his own steps”.

God people had fallen from a position of favor because they started doing things things their own way. Jeremaih recognized that God didn’t create our own steps.

We have the freedom to decide for ourselves, because God doesn’t force His will upon us, but the correct choice is to recognize our completer dependency on God.

We were created for fellowship and are not smart enough to run our own lives. His Word says, Deuteronomy 30 Verse 19 “I call heaven and earth as witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choice life so that you and your descendants may live”.

Our Lord and Our Friend gives us a choice, but He also tells us which option is best,

Learn from the past, but also learn to listen to Him, because He always knows what is the best  for us, in the New Year ahead.
