From The Heart

Keep yourselves in the love of God
Jude verses 20 and 21 tell us “But you, dear friends, must build each other up
in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the
mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you
will keep yourselves safe in the love of God”.
Jude talks about in the last times, there will be scoffers and ones who are
creating divisions. He entreats us to build each other up in faith. When the
trials of life seem too much to bear, we need each other in the body of Christ,
to share our burdens, pray with one another and be encouraged.
Fellowship is essential; with Holy Spirit and with brothers and sisters who
follow the Word of God and desire to walk in His ways. Let’s build one another
up
I love the words of the song “lean back, in the loving arms of a beautiful
Father”. Taking time to do just that; lean into His loving arms; allowing Him to
take all the stress and cares (because He cares for you). Like a little child, we
can come, knowing that His nature is goodness and kindness, trusting Him to
take care of all that concerns us. He delights in you and is singing over you –
songs of deliverance and freedom.
We are told to “guard our hearts with all diligence”, so too here we are told to
‘keep ourselves in the love of God’. This involves disciplining of our minds and
taking captive thoughts that are contrary to what the Word says about us. For
example, “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a
sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
All authority has been given to us who are in Christ, and we can tell the spirit of
fear to go, and allow the peace that passes all understanding to guard our
heart and minds, in Christ. See in our imagination: Peace like a mighty sentry
guarding our minds and hearts so that no darts from the enemy are able to
penetrate.
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” 2 Corinthians 13:14
