From The Heart

“He makes all things beautiful in its time” Ecclesiastes 3:11

It’s that ‘just right’ time, God’s time which is tied into His plan for the world and for each one of us individually.  God has a vision and an order – His perfect time – as He fashions us into His masterpiece.  As Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10 tells us “For we are God’s masterpiece, He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He has planned of us long ago”.

I have shared that we were planning to buy a home and some of the ups and downs and challenges we encountered in the process reminded me of the quote I heard – once I thought that life consisted of a season of blessings followed by a season of challenges, however my experience is that blessings and challenges flow side by side, like the tracks of a train.

As we waited on the Lord regarding our new home, needing to sell and buy in a high market, I often felt tossed about, wondering, and waiting for the signal to go ahead.  The verse from Psalm 23 ‘though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me’, was regularly going through my mind. And I would declare “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life”.

So here we are, now settling into our new home, boxes, and bags still to be sorted and various repairs to be done but knowing the this is the house that the Lord had for us, and He has a purpose for us here which will unfold as the days go by.

When I felt that my strength was depleted and my energy absolutely spent, I would find that as I leaned on our Lord and Friend, our ever-present Help in time of need and also the One who gives boundless strength, I was able to complete the task at hand.  I must say that each night for the last couple of weeks I have said to the Lord, ‘thank You for Your wisdom that You created night for sleeping’!

If you are waiting on the Lord for something, I hope you will be encouraged that He truly does make all things beautiful in the fullness of His timing.  We can trust in His love, wisdom, power, and faithfulness.  He cares for you.

Abundant blessings.
