From The Heart

Wear Love

As we enter this new year of 2022, Colossians 3:12-15 in The Message Bible encourages us to “Wear Love”.

I’ve been contemplating what I wanted to write as my first encouragement for this year, and today I heard this message “ I am calling you into a fresh place of honest vulnerability before Me – I want to free you. Be dressed in the simplicity of My ways, in the robes of My righteousness, in the priestly garments that I have picked out for you. Your beauty is within – My heart longs for you. “

You are chosen by God – so dress in the wardrobe He has picked out for you – compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. As we see ourselves clothed with these qualities, we will learn to walk in even-tempered contentment, being willing to ‘esteem others above ourselves’ and walking in forgiveness by not holding on to offenses.

“And regardless of what else you put on, wear love: it’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.” Of course, this flows in with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 – Apostle Paul’s more excellent way of walking in God’s love.

Jude 1:21 tells us to “keep yourselves in the love of God”.

Colossians 3 Verse 15 “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other”.

What’s the progression here?

As we ‘wear love’ as our all-purpose garment/covering – then we will more readily be able to let the Peace of Christ be the tune we are in step with daily.

What are some ways to show we “wear love”?

By Listening; being Generous; Encouraging; acts of kindness and Praying for others.

Finally, remember always “we love because He first loved us”!

Blessings in Abundance for 2022. Kath
