Pray believing
Wow with all the rain we are experiencing here, we are praying that we will also see the rain of the Spirit falling, and that people will turn their eyes and hearts to our heavenly Father who is the God of all hope – especially as we approach the Christmas season and celebrate/remember the birth of our Lord and Friend, Jesus Christ the Anointed One.
Last Sunday we had a visiting speaker, and her message was – ‘have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed’? She was encouraging us that we need a fresh infilling of Holy Spirit daily, and how He is ever present to help us.
One thing we all did in the service was to lift up one of our current burdens to the Lord, pray in tongues, ask for interpretation and then speak/confess the answer to our request. God watches over His word to perform it. Our answers will always be confirmed by Scripture.
We did this by practical example: – we placed the problem/issue in one hand, lifted it to the Lord and began to pray in tongues and speak the answer and then seeing the answer in the other hand. I was amazed that after praying, my focus was drawn to the hand holding the answer. It seemed as if the problem had faded into the distance. I am believing as I continue to look to the Lord in faith that soon I will be able to share the answer to what I requested from the Lord.
Proverbs 15:8 tells us “the prayer of the upright is His delight”. Psalm 34:7 Message translation says, “God’s angel sets us a circle of protection around us while we pray”. How beautiful is that! Our Father wants us to bring our requests to Him in prayer and He wants to answer us. It’s about relationship.
Mark 11:22-23 Jesus said to His disciples “For assuredly, I say to you whoever says to this mountain ‘be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
God’s rich blessings. Kath
