Sunday Encouragement

If this is your day for rest, like the rest of us we all need encouragement. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from 1 Corinthians 11 verse 26:

1 Corinthians 11 verse 26: “whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

Message Bible: “What you must solemnly realize is that every time you eat this bread and every time you drink this cup, you reenact in your words and actions the death of The Master. You will be drawn back to this meal again and again until The Master returns.”

In the early church the celebration of The Lord’s Supper was the central act, All the believers came together every week to celebrate it.It wasn’t a brief ritual, either, as it has become to be in some churches. It was a complete meal in which the breaking of the bread and the pouring of the wine had a climatic place. But in Corinth, some how all the food and wine obscured the purpose of the gathering.

Communion, Remembrance of the awesomeness of what our Lord achieved on the cross.

Communion, Every time we eat the bread and drink the cup, it is a declaration..”Do this in remembrance of me,” Jesus says, 1 Corinthians 1 verses 24 and 25.

Communion. A time for self examination, before we partake.

Communion is a proclamation Jesus wants us to make ourselves: “Jesus died, He died for me. He broke his body for me, He poured out.his blood for me.

When it is a declaration to? to us, we need to remember that we exist under the covering of Jesus’ sacrifice. To any watching unbeliever whose hearts might be stirred by what God has done for us. And to an forces of darkness. “Jesus died, and Rose Again and in Him, I am free. You have no authority here anymore. I am His.”

God wants us and the world to be crystal clear on this fact. We are His.
