‘A Higher Standard Of living’

Ephesian 4 Verse 24: “You put on the new man {woman} the one created according to God ‘s likeness in righteousness and purity of the Truth

In Ephesians 5, the Apostle Paul, urges us to have a Higher Standard of living. He encourages believers to walk appropriately, this time to walk in love., being imitators of God, as His dearly loved children.

There is one acceptable standard of living for Kingdom people, many other standards are not appropriate. [5 V 3}

When believers remember the state of their lives before their faith in Christ Jesus, they become less likely to fall back into that sinful lifestyle.

A standard displaying out of the darkness and into the wonderful light of Our Lord and Our Friend. Paul challenges his readers to walk as children of the light and experience the benefits and blessings of pleasing Him

Paul does not say how to find out what pleases Our Lord and Our Friend, but instead in 5 verse 10: tell us, “Discern what is pleasing to the Lord”.

When believers live as God teaches, their lives reflect His light and reveal fruitless deeds of darkness. It is far too easy to fall into patterns and habits that do not necessarily lead to sin. Yet do not accomplish much either.

Walk in the light as that wonderful Hymn describes:

Walk in the light, and thou shalt know
  That fellowship of love
His Spirit only can bestow,
  Who reigns in light above.

There is a higher standard of living that surpasses anything the world may say.
