Scripture Verse Of The Week

Philippians 4 Verse 6: “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God”.

It seems an easy saying, ‘Don’t be worried about anything’, but how many of us follow the saying and don’t worry.

But verse 7, explains the benefits of not worrying, and giving all your cares to Our Lord and Our Friend: “And the Peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

Surpasses means: to be better or greater than.

Our Lord and Our Friends Peace is better or greater to have, than any worrying thought we may have.

John 14 Verse 27:”Peace I leave with you, My peace I will give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled of fearful’.

Our Lord and Our Friend’s Peace come though unmerited favor ‘Grace’. Not that we deserve it, but He gives it freely to all who believes

So He can instruct us, ‘Don’t worry about anything, for I know the plans I have for you. they are for good and not for ruin {Jeremiah 29 Verse 11}

There is a doing attached, we need to communicate with Him, “Prayers and petitions with thanksgiving’

It is sad when we let our troubles or worries, hinder our communication with Our Lord and Our Friend. Thousands of prayers have been stopped by unbelief or stifled by unbelieving murmurs, caused by worries or concerns, that He has instructed us not to have.

Worry is a sin, Grace is His blessing that helps us overcome sin. Grace is also His blessing for all believers to walk in.

Psalm 23; ‘The Lord is My Shepard; there is nothing I lack’, in helping overcoming fears and doubts in the life of any believer.

God Bless,
