While Jesus was always kind towards people, He not blind to what they were like not excusing their behavior. He had the profound ability to both demonstrate God’s love, yet also help people see what they were really like.
Jesus used a variety of languages to portray their condition without God. describing them as:
Blind: Blind see Matthew 11 verse 4.
Hungry: Bread of Life: John 6 verse 35
Thirsty: Believes never thirst again: John 6 verse 35.
Weary: Come to me: Matthew 11 verse 28.
Lost: Come To seek the lost: Luke 19 verse 10.
Dead: I have come that you may have life: John 10 verse 10.
Yet Jesus’ insights did not lead Him to highlight people’s failure or sin. He knew most people realized their failings without being told, and what help they needed to help in unraveling the mess and making things right again.
Coming to Jesus means a correction of our vision, consuming His Word, drinking of His refreshing, resting all we are in Him, and living a life of fullness in Him.
Jeremiah 29 verse 11: ‘“For I know the plans, I have for you’–this is The Lord declaration—’plans for your welfare, not disaster, to give you a future and a hope’.”
Come taste, drink, see and rest in all our Wonderful Lord, Redeemer and Friend has for us.
