Dealing With Difficulties

Regrets might be unavoidable. they are also unproductive on their own. They take our attention away from Our Lord and Our Friend, being the center of our lives. Regrets focus attention on what has been lost, with little attention to what might have been gained in the process.

To suffer the loss of hopes and ideas can feel devastating, and for some people bring an effective end to their energy for the ongoing journey through life. If failure is the condemnation applied to the past, than it can easily be carried forward as a prognosis for the future. It can easily become self-fulfilling. Self-fulfilling leading to self-pity. which is taking away from the great love Our Lord and Our Friend has for each of us. So self-pity is neither necessary or enabling.

We may not become the people we imaged ourselves to be. Perhaps our sense of disappointment is merely an encounter with the people that we actual are; and that the assessment we are seeing in our lives, of who we were and what we should be aiming for, were made unreasonably, by our youth and immaturity..

If this is so, then our regrets and virtual unhappy self approval assessment. should be seen as merely as a way to a re awaking of what it means to have Our Lord and Our Friend front and center of our lives.

Galatians 2 Verse 20: “And I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in The Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.

Colossians 1 v 27: “God wanted to make known to those among the gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery. which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”.

Our goals in life may have been shaped by the desire, for external benefits such as recognition, status or wealth. In the life of the soul. however. these are not really that important. They are like neon lights. they sparkle bit do not endure. To regret that we have not attained them is to become fixated on what is passing way rather than growing, in the beauty of what Our lord and Our Friend brings to our lives.

! John 3 Verse 1 “Look at how great a love the Father has given us, that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know is is that it didn’t know Him”.

To know and to live “in’ Christ Jesus. there should never be any regrets.

God Bless.
