Psalm 46 verse 2: “so we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.”
Every tomorrow has two handles; the handle of anxiety and the handle of faith. Which will we use to get a ‘handle’ on our day.
We can have many fears and we have written about them in our article ‘Dealing with Difficulties Fear’. The second only to the fear of standing before a large audience is the widespread phobia known as ‘Fear of the unknown’.
In a day when pressing problems greatly outnumber, available solutions in matters of concern, where do we turn for our stability.
We turn to the same refuge the psalmist found. In Psalm 46 there is portrayed the worst calamities imaginable upon earth, earthquakes, floods, landslides and raging seas. And when everything seems to be going wrong they believe in a immovable refuge, the God Who created them.
In verse 10 and 11 of Psalm 46 it has some beautiful instructions:
Verse 10: “Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. i will be honored throughout the world”
Verse 11: The Lord Almighty is here among us; and the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
Every tomorrow has two handles. Grab hold to the handle of faith, in a God who loves us and has awesome plans for our lives. Jeremiah 29 Verse 11
