Scripture Verse Of The Week

habakkuk

“Look, his ego is inflated; he is without integrity. But the righteous one will live by his {or Her} faith.” Habakkuk 2 verse 4:

Our Lord and Our Friend wants us to rest and trust in and to live in His Sovereign goodness and grace. The New Testament quotes this truth often; Romans 1 verse 17:

“For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.”

Galatians 3 verse 11:

“Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live by faith.”

To reinforce that our salvation comes through trusting in God’s gift of righteousness to us, and not through any righteousness we earn on our own.

It is difficult for us to confess to people who don’t believe, that we don’t fully understand why Our Lord and Our Friend allows things to happen the way He does. But we can admit this and then go on to say, ‘Even though we do not understand all the ways of the almighty, the God who gave His Son to die for us {Individually} on the cross has to have a good reason for everything. The God Who gave so much has our absolute trust.

God Bless
