Scripture Verse Of The Week

Ephesians 6 verse 14:“Stand. therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest”.

To stand in everything Our Lord and Our Friend has for our lives.

V15: “and your feet, sandal-ed with readiness for the gospel of peace.”

V16: In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

V17: Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word.”

The only offensive weapon listed here is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The Word of God is Truth, That truth is our sword.

The way we swing our sword is to speak truth. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, three times He said, “It is written”. When the world was created, it was formed by the spoken word, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

The Word first changes us, and cut the dross off us, so we can feel the freedom from the burden of sin {wrong-doings} against God. Even though we can still sin, because we are only sinners saved by “Grace”. The cutting away process The Word has done to our lives, we are more likely not to sin, because we would know we would be failing to honor Our Lord..

The sword is there to help us, only after we understand the workings of it. First we must let The Word, permeate our own lives, so we are changed by what the Lord wants to take from our lives that is not good for us.

When the Word permeates our life. we are more effective to use the Sword of the Spirit, because we understand the awesomeness of The Word in our lives.

Put on the full armor of God, but allow the Word to take from our lives, the weight of baggage, that might effect our witness, for Him, in it.

God Bless.
