Peter teaches how to deal with false teachers and evildoers who have come into the church.

Peter writes a final letter to believers, knowing that he is about to die. Peter is writing to encourage all believers with the truth that God has given us everything we need to live godly lives.

2 peter 1 Verse 3:

Verse 3: “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness”.

Peter warns of the dangerously deceptive false prophets in the church. These people pose as believers, they live ungodly lives and even deny that Jesus saved them. God see everything and will judge these people for there deceptiveness and ungodly living.

Peter explains that Jesus is the fulfillment of all that the prophets have written and said. Peter reveals that he even had the privilege of seeing Jesus’ transfiguration {chapter 1 verse 16 to 18}.

Peter encourages, we are to take from scripture that God keeps His promises and he will keep His future ones too.

Peter emphasizes that the day of the Lord is coming, it will come on God’s timetable, and it will come like a thief in the night. Our Good God is holding off on His return so that more people can come to Know Him.

In the meantime, we are to patiently look forward to the new heaven and new earth that He will usher in. We through our faith And belief, are to tell people all about Jesus because He wants as many who accept the message, to come to Him.
