Faith In Action

We were created in the image of God. God has emotions, He expresses love, and he expresses anger against sin.

Our Lord and Our Friend, felt the full range of emotions, in His earthly ministry.

Matthew 8 verse 10: He displayed amazement: “Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following Him, ‘I assure you; I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith.”

Hebrews 5 verse 7: He cried: “During His earthly life, He offered prayers and appeals, with loud cries and tears.”

Matthew 26 verse 37: He knew sorrow: “He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed”.

Emotions are apart of our created being, we were created to express how we feel. we should not suppress our emotions.

We should be amazed at what Our Lord and Our Friend has done for us, we can be amazed by the achievements of others, just as Jesus marveled at the faith of the centurion.

We can cry, when life troubles us, as long as we take our troubles to Him, because He loves us. Romans 12 verse 15 tells us: “Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep”. Don’t hold back on using our emotions.

We can be sorrowful; John 16 verse 20: “You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turn to joy”. It doesn’t matter what we go though because God has plans for our welfare and not for disaster. Jeremiah 29 verse 11:

Ecclesiastes tell us there is a time for everything. 3 verse 4: “A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance”.

To be a follower, we are able to express every emotion. We don’t just have to put on a brave face. Use our emotions Jesus wept before His Father, we can do the same, but by faith, claim the promises that are also available to us.

Also we can use the fruit available to us in Galatians 5 verse 22:

Let us come regularly to the Throne Of Grace in time of need, Hebrews 4 verse 16.

We are never alone, He said He would always be with us, share your emotions with Him, both happy and sad, because He loves us,

God Bless.
