Faith in Action ‘Facing A Crisis’

When we are facing crisis, it is good to know and understand we have a loving Lord, Redeemer and Friend, in Whom we can put our trust.

From the Book of Daniel. Daniel who King Nebuchadnezzar had placed in a high position faced a crisis, with the men he himself had appointed to administrative posts. and the Lord gave him victory.

The crisis, when the officials heard that Daniel might be promoted they were envious and wanted to undermine his authority and get rid of him, and those Daniel appointed. The unbelieving world does not want a believer in charge even if he or she is gifted and efficient, but the light always overcomes what happens in darkness.

Daniel 3 verse 4 to 6: {Message Bible}:

“A herald then proclaimed in a loud voice: ‘Attention, everyone! Every race, color and creed, listen! When you hear the band strike up—all the trumpets and trombones, the tubas and baritones, the drums and cymbals—fall to your knees and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Anyone who does not kneel and worship shall be thrown immediately into a roaring furnace’.”

A crisis, a trap, a test of faith. Daniel friends were thrown into a fiery furnace. Psalm 37 verse 12 and 13: Message Bible:“Bad guys have it in for the goods guys, obsessed with doing them in, But God isn’t losing any sleep to him they’re a joke with no punch line.”

One thing was shown clearly in the accusations against Daniel’s friends. They hadn’t changed a bit, thought the circumstances had changed significantly. They were loyal to their God when they were slaves, and they were loyal to their God when they were exalted. Daniel’s three friends believed that God could save them from anything, but there loyalty wasn’t contingent on their rescue. Our Lord and Our Friend, knows all the things we go through, both good and bad, but really does want us to have complete trust in Him.

God Bless.
