A TONGUE OF INSTRUCTION

‘The sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.’

So it reads in Isaiah 50/verse 4. This verse has such an impact of power as to how the Lord persists and pursues your hearts. Morning by morning he wakens our ears to give to us an instructed tongue. He teaches us words to sustain and comfort weary souls. As we sleep during the night God is preparing our path every morning. Because HE cares for his people, in Isaiah 42/6 He affirms this,: ‘I will take hold of your hand, I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles.’

God promises from verse 18, ‘I will turn the darkness into light before them and makes the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.’ While you slumber through the night our Lord is shaping, planning and placing our awakening instruction. He lets us know that the former things have taken place and new things declared before springing into being. Then as we awaken he announces them to our ear. A new song begins. How amazing is that my fellow Christians? Many of you, as you have risen for the morning, have wondered about a day that unfolded for you was not the way you had planned it.

That the hours had passed in an entirely unexpected way from every aspect you had organized. Or that a life changing event occurred and you wondered how or why?

But, be careful. In verse 20 a warning is issued, ‘You have seen many things but have paid no attention, your ears are open but you hear nothing. Listen to me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts.’

Take heed of the words the Lord gives breath to in your morning ear. Hear and trust his wisdom.

LISTEN, HEED AND TRUST WITH ALL YOUR HEART.

Be Blessed,

Lorriane
